Christmas at the Battle of the Bulge

By TONY ADAMS

The Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs went into Tuesday’s battle in Belton to collect momentum going into the Christmas break. Belton looked to battle back from a tough District 12-6A opening loss at Shoemaker. The Lady Tigers fought back from a 10-point deficit mid-way in the fourth quarter, but a 12-0 in the final 4:39 gave Cove a 41-27 victory. Emily Del Real’s three-pointer got the Lady Tigers on the board with 6:32 remaining in the first quarter. Daisha Hunter and Cheyanne Chapman each hit field goals to put Cove up 5-3 before Cammie Moore’s threepointer put Belton back in the lead 6-5.
