By TJ MAXWELL

Since day one of the 2014 season, the 12-under Cove Royals have been talking about their destiny of bringing a state title home to Copperas Cove. They were two wins away from achieving that goal after moving to 3-0 on Wednesday. The Royals battled their way through their first three games of the 2014 Texas Teenage 12U Open Base State Tournament in Belton unscathed to set up a quarterfinal showdown with the BMC Patriots on Thursday. “I’m proud of each and every one of them,” said Royals head coach Todd Fox after a 7-5 win over the Hillsboro Bobcats. “We’ve played great baseball. These kids are piecing the puzzle together now and have come together as a team. The objective is right here in our hands.”
