The Copperas Cove baseball team had high expectations coming into the 2016 season and, so far, is living up to those expectations.

The Bulldawgs outscored their opponents 60-16 on their way to the title of Cove Tournament Champions in a 17-5 mercy rule win over the Little River Academy Bumblebees in the title game on Saturday. Cove went 4-1 in the tournament to earn the crown after back-to-back third place finishes.

“It feels good,” said senior Michael Hays. “The last two years, I think we’ve finished third so it feels good to finally bring the first place home.”
