The ATX Amatuer Athletic Union (AAU) boys basketball team, consisting mostly of Copperas Cove high school basketball players and one football player, blew teams away on the court this summer, placing in 13 of 14 tournaments while winning 11 of the 14.

“I’ve coached most of these boys since they were in 2nd grade from Parks and Recreation to AAU competitive basketball,” said ATX boys head coach Glenn Johnson. “Although the organization is based out of Austin, TX, we represent Copperas Cove and make it known during each tournament.”

The team traversed the state of Texas with 11 first-place wins and two second-place wins in the 14 tournaments played this year.
