Copperas Cove head coach Dusty Brittain knew his team was going to come through in theclutch, he just thought it would be one batter sooner. “To be honest, I’m shocked that Bryce (Delano) didn’t come through because he has been soclutch for us lately,” he said. Instead, Michael Hayes played the role of hero on Friday night. One strike away from a loss, the solid sophomore dropped a line drive in the right field gap to score fellow sophomore Tim Bechtold for the 6-5 walkoff win.
