Portions of Kenney Dr and Nathan Lane have been stripped down to road base after years of abuse have worn away the asphalt of the roads in the Sunset Estates subdivision north of Copperas Cove. The contractor of the subdivision went bankrupt prior to the completion of the project leaving the roads without repair for over a decade.

Where the blacktop Ends

More than a decade of abuse has two roads in Coryell County riddled with more holes than a slice of swiss cheese and in need of repair. Households along Kenney Drive and Nathan Lane in the Sunset Estates subdivision have banded together to patch the problem as they wait for county crews to begin a construction project to bring the roads up to standards. “I love living out here but we get no support from the county,” said Nancy Sinner. “I have to leave early for work because others takes so long to weave in and out missing all the pot holes.” The entrance to the subdivision promises paved roads with no city taxes and lots from .750 acres to three acres in size.
