Diana Bohn disposed of several unwanted tires with the help of city worker, Jay Alexander. Tire disposal normally costs $3 or $7 depending on size, but Covites were allowed to dispose of them for free during Saturday’s fall cleanup.

Residents brave cold during fall cleanup

By PAMELA GRANT

Covites braved the cold weather and headed to the city’s solid waste facility on Saturday during the fall cleanup sponsored by Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful and the Solid Waste Department. The fall cleanup invited Copperas Cove residents to drop off household trash, junk, brush, yard waste, metal, appliances, up to five tires, used oil and antifreeze (limit of five gallons each) and recyclable items from 8 a.m. until noon.
