By DAVID MORRIS

Faculty from Williams/ Ledger Elementary school will soon be introducing a pirate’s attitude to their teaching style as they challenge their students to become engaged in a creative classroom. Taking part in the first of five teacher workshops¬ scheduled, staff heard from Dave Burgess’, the writer of Teach Like a Pirate a book that offers inspiration and practical techniques along with innovative ideas to increase student engagement, boos creativity and transform life as an educator. “Today is our first activity and we are doing some fun things to help build engagement in the classroom,” Williams Ledger Principal Marla Sullivan said. “Instead of being a standing lecture, these workshops will help draw the students into the learning.”
