Pioneer family returns to roots for 80th reunion

Kinsey/Coskrey families to gather in Gatesville.
By DAVID MORRIS

Descendents of James Coskery and Thomas Kinsey, pioneers of Bell and Coryell counties will gather in Gatesville to celebrate their heritage with a weekend of activities starting with a pot luck dinner tonight in the Senior Citizens Center of Gatesville. What began as a slumber party for Retta Kinsey Mullins and her cousins has grown to include scheduled genealogy and DNA programs for drawing as many as 175 family members in the 90’s and recently averaging 50-60 descendants. Cathy Wood Osborn, the granddaughter of Retta, tookan interest in the annual event and has prepared a genealogy report and expanding the program into a two part series on Saturday as she helps explain how DNA testing can help extend relationships helping to locate lost relatives expanding the family tree.
