Neighborhoods take to streets for block parties

Brookview Village apartments celebrated National Night Out by hosting a potluck Tuesday evening, providing pizza for its residents. Edna Nieves mingled with her neighbors, who also enjoyed a visit from the Copperas Cove fire and police departments. “I love this place. I’ve got good neighbors,” Nieves said of her residence. “I just moved here two weeks ago from northwest Indiana.” This was the first National Night Out Nieves attended, and she said she moved to Copperas Cove to be closer to her son, a retired 20-year veteran.
