City dedicates green space to 60-year resident.

By DAVID MORRIS

Unveiling a sign bearding Edgar H. Rhode park, the Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation department dedicated the green space located off Big Divide Road and Settlement Drive in the Skyline Flats subdivision as the city’s newest park. The city council decided on Edgar H. Rhode park in April as the name of the eight-acre park donated by Wesley Atkinson and Atkinson Construction. Rhode passed away at the age of 98 after calling Copperas Cove home for more than 60 years.
