CCISD students pledge to be drug free

Drake Harkins, 13, is days away from completing his time in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program at the Ave. E Alternative Learning Center and vows after participating in the Red Ribbon Week program, Impaired Vision, hosted by Scott & White Hospital to make better life choices. Paying a visit to the campus Wednesday, Scott and White provided goggles that emphasizes the vision and hazards of using alcohol along with the dangers associated with driving impaired. Minutes into his digital driving experience with the goggles on, Harkins’ screen turned red indicating he was in an accident requiring a visit to the emergency room.
