Ave. D sidewalks on agenda

The Copperas Cove City Council will meet tonight at 6 p.m. with the Ave. D sidewalk project financing and service agreements on the agenda stemming from the Transportation Alternatives Program application due October 15. The project was previously submitted for the statewide call and now the project seeks submittal and funds from the regional level Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization. In August, council authorized city staff to submit a TAP application to the K-TMPO for funding consideration. In September the K-TMPO board notified policy members that the commission approved a rule change with a modification to allow for a preferred submission of a TAP application, allowing cities within a Transportation Management Area to decide to compete regionally or statewide for TAP funding.
