Roads a hot topic at county meeting

By LYNETTE SOWELL

The Texas Department of Transportation will be giving Coryell County $172,308 in funding as part of a state project to repair damage to roads caused by oil and gas exploration. Those affected roads
in the county include Slater Road and Bea Powell Road, and were designated as part of a County Energy Transportation Reinvestment Zone, or CETRZ. The amount from the state is more than the original amount expected of $134,000, as more than 60 Texas counties didn’t apply for the funding.
