Presbyterian Church holds fall festival

By LYNETTE SOWELL

The warm fall weather gave plenty of opportunity for festival-goers to enjoy everything First Presbyterian Church had to offer at Saturday’s fall festival. The event was tailored for families, with games and fun for children to participate in for $3 for enough tickets to enjoy all the games, including a bounce house, ladder golf, bean bag toss, three-legged race, a lollipop pull for a prize and digging for prizes in a pool full of deer corn. One favorite activity was the “photo opp” set with a display among hay bales and pumpkins, with a life-size scarecrow cutout. Families and friends took turns standing in as the scarecrow with the others posed on the bales of hay for a chance to “make a memory.” Indoors, church members oversaw a bake sale, a silent auction and an indoor yard sale. Items up for auction included gift baskets, a hand-carved chess set, as well as gift certificates, and other items donated by church members.
