Local teens volunteer at nursing home

On Saturday, several CCHS students volunteered their time providing entertainment to Copperas Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation residents. The students were either a part of Theresa Morgan’s Ready, Set, Teach! class or the TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) club. “Tristan is doing a service project for our state competition and so she came up with this activity today and recruited her fellow club members to help her out and to do a public service and spend some time with people that don’t get enough visitors,” said Theresa Morgan. “It’s important for the students to do things like this so they can see others in their community,” added Morgan. “They can see how they can make an impact in their community. It’s important to nurture the giving spirit.” CCHS Junior Tristan Murray, 16, came up with the idea to volunteer her time at the nursing home and document the results for her state service project.
