Costumes were all the rage at Geek Fest over the weekend.

CTC geeked out for weekend fundraiser

By LYNETTE SOWELL

Costumed characters from science fiction, fantasy, medieval times, anime and the gaming world converged on Central Texas College for its fifth annual GeekFest from Friday through Sunday. The three-day event served as a fundraiser for the Central Texas Ambassadors, a student program sponsored by the college. Hundreds attended over the weekend and the event raised funds for the scholarship program, said Bruce Vasbinder, CTC’s public information officer. Friday night kicked off with the Anderson Student Center decked out with snow and evergreen trees for a Harry Potter theme Yule Ball, after which a latenight showing of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” took place in the planetarium.
