At Monday’s meeting of commissioners court, the county approved an agreement with Select Physical Therapy of Temple to provide post job offer health screenings to new county employees. Richard Anderson, a physical therapist and work strategies coordinator with Select Physical Therapy, shared with county officials how the company can help the county and its employees. “We can work with you in the hiring phase, for safety and injury prevention, rehabilitation, work hardening and work conditiong, and functional capacity levels,” Anderson said. These screenigns, to include tests like aerobic screening and treadmill tests, are an attempt to lower risk and prevent future on-the-job injuries for its new employees, especially those whose jobs are more physically strenuous.
