20-cent tax rate to pave the way for road repairs

The administrators of Coryell County’s Road District 1, namely the Coryell County commissioners, met with the residents who live on the crumbling streets of Kenney and Nathan Drive areas of Sunset Estates, and agreed last Monday to set a tax rate of 20 cents per $100 valuation for property owners in those areas. The taxing solution is a long time coming for homeowners in the Sunset Estates, after appealing to the developer and doing some patchwork to the streets on their own dime. Due to the numerous potholes in the road and poor drainage, the streets give drivers a teeth-rattling trip each time they travel those neighborhoods. Vehicles have also been damaged due to street conditions.
