After an almost three-year hiatus, the Copperas Cove Police Department will hold the 31st session of the Copperas Cove Citizens Police Academy, with the first class starting on Thursday, March 2 and the class culminating with a graduation ceremony on May 4.

Locals have the opportunity to answer a casting call from Austin-based Brock Allen Casting for a Nat Geo miniseries set to begin filming next month in the Fort Hood, Killeen, and Austin areas.

A substitute bus driver for Copperas Cove Independent School District acted quickly and heroically, extinguishing a fire at a residence on a bus route while taking students to Mae Stevens Early Learning Academy Thursday afternoon.

CCLP/BRITTANY FHOLER - Copperas Cove Fire Department Chief Michael Neujahr recognized CCISD Maintenance Department employee Raymond Riddle, at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, for his efforts in extinguishing a fire in the yard of a residence on the bus route last Thursday.
Copperas Cove residents came out to the grand opening of Pet Supplies Plus over the weekened. Shoppers had the chance to cast votes for one of three local shelters to receive a $1,000 donation from Pet Supplies Plus, with the other two shelters each receiving $250.

The weekend’s cold temperatures didn’t deter local residents from coming out to celebrate the grand opening of Pets Supplies Plus in Copperas Cove.
