Noon Exchange Club hosts city manager as guest speaker

The Noon Exchange Club of Copperas held a meeting on August 26 at Lil Tex Restaurant. President Inez Faison called the meeting to order and Dr. Parker Bogue offered the invocation. Club Member Julius Hunter led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Board Member Norma Crawford announced birthdays and anniversaries. President Elect Mike Blount encouraged members to attend the Golden Deeds Ceremony taking place on October 8 at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Tickets for the ceremony are $15. Blount also announced the Noon Exchange Club and City of Copperas Cove Feast of Sharing will take place on November 17. Tickets will be available starting November 1. Youth volunteers this year will include the Excel Club of Copperas Cove and the Home School Excel Club of Copperas Cove.
 
Following the announcement, the club held an induction ceremony. Past Secretary Pat Thomas served as sponsor for James Stubbs, and Clear Creek Meadows Apartments Leasing Professional Tana King sponsored Clear Creek Meadows Apartments Community Manager Andrea Byrd.
 
Next, Past President Sandor Vegh presented the Employee of the First Quarter to Heavy Equipment Operator Mike Paradise. Vegh stated, “The city recommended Michael for his efforts by going above and beyond to support Copperas Cove. He is an asset to the city and we are honored for helping our team.”
