The Copperas Cove High School class of 2016 bid farewell to school days and crossed the stage to receive their high school diplomas at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton on Friday night.

During the ceremony, the graduates heard from several classmates as well as CCISD’s superintendent, Joe Burns, and their principal, Miguel Timarky. Prior to the speeches commencing, LTG Sean B. Mac-Farland, commanding general of the combined joint task force Operation Inherent Resolve and Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood, gave a recorded address.

Kaylyn Kirkpatrick, senior class president, gave the opening and recognition of special guests to include the school board of trustees and their spouses, as well as CCISD administrators on stage. She saved one to acknowledge last: her father, Rick Kirkpatrick, the deputy superintendent of operations and support, as well as her mother, Angela Kirkpatrick, who is the district’s director of special education.
