Life lesson

Juvenile probation officer Roberta Willey speaks to students at Martin Walker Elementary.

Roberta Willey, juvenile probation officer for Copperas Cove, said she had no problem putting some 10-year-old students from Martin Walker Elementary school on her caseload. Willey visited with two fourth grade classes on Friday as part of her Early Intervention program geared toward the 3rd through 5th grades. “Something needed to be said to the younger kids because a lot of people don’t know that in Texas at age 10, you can be arrested,” said Willey. “One of the biggest things is that people just don’t believe there is a problem in schools.”
