Land donated for site of proposed fire station
In the general election on Nov. 5 Covites will have the opportunity to either vote for or against a bond that will allocate $6 million for the design and construction of a new fire station/police substation. Polo Enriquez, executive director of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, said the organization’s board of directors voted to give four acres of land in The Narrows Business and Technology Park to the city for the proposed Fire Station 4/police substation. The council voted to accept the four acres in an open meeting and the deed will be exchanged at a date that is yet to be determined, headded.
