The Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs softball team split their weekend series with Shoemaker High School and Waco Midway, defeating the Gray Wolves 23-2 on Friday and dropping their Saturday matchup against the Pantherettes 7-2. Carlee Duran pitched a complete game Friday night giving up a pair of runs in her four innings of work. Hosting the Midway Pantherettes for an Autism Awareness afternoon game on Saturday, the Lady Dawgs fell 7-2 behind a pitching combination of Ashley Hartwell and Duran.
