Lady Dawgs pink out gym in home finale
Host for the final time this year at Bulldawg Gym, the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs were clad in pink as they swept The Lady Roos in three sets, 25-16, 25-12, 25-15, on Parent night for the Dig Pink game. No. 22 ranked Copperas Cove improves to (36-7, 11-1) with the win as Killeen falls out of the playoff picture. “Offensively, attacking the ball, we had an exceptional job out of Q and Bre,” head coach Cari Lowery said. “We seemed to get out of our system tonight and we need to play better over the next two games. We have to stay focused and not get ahead of
ourselves.” Seniors Qiana Canete and Bryaunea Hall posted double digit kills on the night with Canete posting 18 and Hall adding 13 of her own. Junior Mikayla Blount had 23 assists while sophomore Katy Ranes set for 18 of her own. Ranes and juniors Destiny Henderson and Lexi Perez each recorded an ace on the attacks.
