BELTON-The Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs traveled east on US 190 in search of a victory over the Belton Lady Tigers on Friday night. They found themselves in a bit stew early and went the distance. Skylar Stewart went 3-for-3 with a long home run and Sidney Holman struck out 11 Copperas Cove hitters, as Belton tripped the Lady Dawgs 9-0. Cove (12-11, 2-2 in District 8-5A) reached base in the top of the first inning on a short single by Carlee Duran, but was stranded on first. Ashley Hartwell started in the circle for the Lady Dawgs and was good early as she sandwiched strikeouts of Kirsten Whiteside and Alex Wilson around a walk to Tiffany Beaver and a single by Bekah Alcozer.
