The volunteers of Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful had plenty of reasons to be excited when the winners of the Keep Texas Beautiful Governor's Community Achievement Awards were announced recently. KCCB applied for and won a $210,000 landscaping grant, one of 10 prizes bestowed annually by Keep Texas Beautiful. Each year, the organization is given $2 million to award 10 communities throughout the state that have “the best grassroots environmental programs in the state,” according to the KTB web site. This is the first time Copperas Cove has won this award.
