Errors cost Cove District 8-5A opener

Copperas Cove senior Brandon Smith did all he could to help the Bulldawgs as they opened up district play against the Killeen Kangaroos Tuesday night. Smith's three RBI's weren't enough as the Roos outscored Copperas Cove 7-3 at Bulldawg field. Killeen jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as John Rectorivick drew a walk from Copperas Cove pitcher Charlie Folger with one out in the inning. Rectorivick would move around the bases, scoring on a single by Doug Bell who was 2 of 3 with a pair of singles on the night.
