Council looking at veterans bill

The Copperas Cove City Council meets tonight and the hot topics include the execution of a letter of opposition regarding House Bill 1162, which relates to a tax exemption for certain disabled veterans, as well as how to proceed about the $6,136.75 Black Meg 43 currently owes the city. During the 83rd regular Texas legislative session, Ed Thompson of Brazoria filed House Bill 1162. The caption for the bill reads, “A Bill to be entitled an act relating to a sales and use tax exemption for certain disabled veterans and surviving spouses of certain disabled veterans.”
